Julio Cesar Chavez is widely considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, having won world titles in three weight divisions and boasting an impressive record of 108 wins, six losses, and two draws. He has also been a champion for much longer than most other boxers, from 1984 to 2005. Throughout his long tenure at the top of the boxing world, he has faced – and beaten – some of the best fighters in history. In total, Julio Cesar Chavez has won fights against 14 world champions.

Julio Cesar Chavez is one of the most legendary boxers to ever grace the sport. Born in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico, in 1962, Chavez enjoyed a dazzling career that spanned an astonishing 25 years. Over that time, he beat some of the biggest names in boxing and earned himself a legendary status as one of the greatest fighters of all time. In this article, we will examine just how many world champions Julio Cesar Chavez has beaten over his illustrious career.

Firstly, it is important to note that Julio Cesar Chavez held multiple world titles throughout his career. He won his first WBC Super Featherweight World Title against Mario Martinez back in 1984 and went on to claim four other world championship belts over the years. This means that he faced a whole host of opponents throughout his career – many of whom were champions themselves.

In terms of world champions specifically, Julio Cesar Chavez actually holds an incredible record when it comes to defeating them in the ring. Over his long career, Chavez fought no fewer than 37 boxers who had held significant world title belts at some point in their careers – an unprecedented number compared to other top fighters.

One notable example was when he took on Roger Mayweather for the WBC Light Welterweight Title Belt in 1985. Mayweather was considered by many to be one of the best fighters at that weight class and was unbeaten going into the fight. However, Chavez overcame him with ease and stopped him after just two rounds.

Another memorable victory came against Meldrick Taylor for the IBF Light Welterweight Title Belt in 1990. At this stage in Taylor’s career, he had already been crowned Olympic Gold Medalist and had won multiple world titles as a pro boxer. However, despite a valiant effort from Taylor – who was ahead on points going into the final round – Chavez managed to knock him down with just 2 seconds to go in the fight and claim a victory that is still talked about to this day.

Overall, it is clear that Julio Cesar Chavez beat an exceptional number of world champions throughout his long and storied career. From Roger Mayweather to Meldrick Taylor, he faced and defeated many of the best fighters of his generation – cementing his place as one of boxing’s all-time greats.
